Principal's Message

Welcome to Holy Name of Mary Catholic Elementary School, a vibrant, faith-filled community where students are encouraged to grow in their relationship with Christ, discover their God-given gifts, and strive for excellence in all they do.

As we begin this school year, we are inspired by the 2027 Catholic Education Week theme, “Catholic Education: Becoming Artisans of Peace.” Guided by the teachings of Jesus, we are called to foster a culture of kindness, respect, inclusion, and understanding. Peace begins in our hearts and is reflected in how we care for one another, build relationships, and serve our community.

Pope Leo XIV reminds us that young people have tremendous gifts and potential, but they need support and guidance to help those gifts flourish. At Holy Name of Mary, we embrace this responsibility by creating a nurturing environment where every child feels welcomed, valued, and loved. Through strong partnerships among home, school, and parish, we work together to support the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth of every learner.

As a school named in honour of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we look to Mary as a model of faith, humility, courage, and peace. Her trust in God and commitment to serving others inspire us to live as disciples of Christ and to be peacemakers in our daily lives.

It is both an honour and a privilege to serve as the new principal of Holy Name of Mary. Alongside our dedicated staff, supportive families, and parish community, I look forward to helping our students grow as confident learners, compassionate citizens, and faith-filled leaders who bring hope and peace to the world.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Carolyn Schillaci for her leadership, compassion, and dedication to the Holy Name of Mary school community over the past five years. We wish her many blessings as she begins a new chapter as an administrator at Bishop Ryan CSS where she will continue to make a positive difference.

In partnership with Father Ross Campbell and the St. Ann Ancaster parish team, we will continue to nurture a faith-filled environment where relationships flourish and the well-being of every child remains our priority. We invite all parents and guardians to be active partners in their child’s educational journey, knowing that your involvement strengthens our shared mission.

May the Holy Spirit guide us throughout the year as we continue to grow in faith, learning, and service.

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16
